A city is not completed by ticking it off. It needs a route with room to turn, pause, and become your own.
Draw a circle from where you stay
Keep one walking radius to twenty or forty minutes. Learn the breakfast places, transit, and evening mood close to your room first.
Let ordinary places enter the route
Bookshops, markets, laundries, and bus stops reveal a city's real rhythm more readily than landmark lists.
Do not let navigation be the only direction
At a junction, occasionally follow the side with better light, more trees, or a little more quiet.
